Bedding Design Tips

Windows are always an important focal point in a beautifully designed room, and here at Lily Pad Interiors, we do windows! We have an extensive custom window treatment program with a wide array of window treatment styles to choose from – and the expertise to guide you through it.

Window treatments  are designed in several layers. Layer 1 is almost always some type of light-blocking shade to keep your baby or child sleeping past the crack of dawn and during mid-afternoon naps. We like (blackout) honeycomb shades, and have been given the opportunity to represent the top-of-the-line Smith & Noble brand. If you choose a honeycomb shade, we will work with you to select the best color option for it once your whole window treatment design is complete.

After selecting a type of shade, our next step is to determine the general type of window treatment that appeals to you most. If you click on our  Windows link, and then on the  Custom Window Treatments link, you will find pictures of different window treatment styles that we offer. As you browse through these and give us your thoughts on each style, we will take notes and upload the ones you like best to your My Favorites/Design Center. In doing so, we will bring you to a favorite window treatment design quickly and effortlessly!

We will need two things from you to assist us in this process: a photo of your window (please e-mail us a jpg) along with a measurement of one dimension. Please remember that we will obtain the best results if you take the picture of your window straight-on (not at an angle). We have state-of-the art software that allows us to overlay your chosen window treatment – along with fabric selections – onto the picture to show you exactly what your fully dressed window will look like. We can even use this software to paint the walls a Benjamin Moore hue if you desire, so that looking at the rendering will be like stepping into your Dream Room.
